Dallas Women’s Auxiliary invites public to shop post-event sale of discounted designer clothing, shoes, and accessories May 9 – 10

NORTH TEXAS (May 7, 2025) — With an afternoon of high fashion, fellowship, and charitable giving, The Salvation Army's Dallas Women's Auxiliary celebrated its highly anticipated signature fundraising event, the annual Fashion Show & Luncheon, this week at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. The Salvation Army’s Dallas Women’s Auxiliary welcomed dedicated donors, partners, and supporters to raise vital funds that help programs dedicated to combatting poverty, addiction, and homelessness in local communities.

Hosted by Event Chair Stacey Walker and Honorary Chair Louise Griffeth, this year’s Fashion Show & Luncheon included a seated lunch and New York-style runway show featuring fabulous designer labels generously donated from Dallas’ most admirable closets and boutiques. Patrons were able to shop couture fashion at The Chic Boutique or purchase the runway items through a silent auction, with all proceeds supporting The Salvation Army.

Dallas Women’s Auxiliary President Laura Downing and founding Emeritus Auxiliary member Margot Perot honored Nancy Dedman with the namesake Margot Perot Service Award. Dedman has committed years of service and dedication to The Salvation Army, the region’s largest social services provider, as a charter member of the Dallas Women’s Auxiliary and The Salvation Army’s Advisory Board. Millie Cooper, whose leadership and legacy have inspired countless women to service, was recognized as the Legacy Award recipient.

For the first time, the Inaugural Love in Action Award was presented to Toni Turner for her commitment to making the Dallas Women’s Auxiliary and the Fashion Show & Luncheon a success. Turner’s tendency to lend a helping hand and her countless hours spent on the event has been pivotal in raising millions for the North Texas community in need.

“Each year, the Fashion Show & Luncheon serves as a positive reminder of the immense generosity of our advocates, partners, and donors,” said Major Dawn McFarland, area commander of The Salvation Army of North Texas. “It’s truly special to see North Texans come together for such a remarkable event, all in the name of service. We invite those who were unable to attend to come out for our After Sale. Every dollar makes a difference, and what better way to show support than by sprucing up your wardrobe!”

This Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, North Texans are invited to attend the Fashion Show After Sale at 9216 Harry Hines Boulevard. The highly anticipated annual shopping event is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature an array of gently and never-worn women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, as well as shoes, handbags, and accessories at highly discounted prices. All pieces have been generously donated from the most coveted closets and boutiques in North Texas.

Since its inception in 1993, the Dallas Women’s Auxiliary’s Fashion Show & Luncheon has raised more than $16 million for The Salvation Army of North Texas.
